Marge Levine is a graduate of The Fashion Insitute of Technology with a degree in textile design. She is a member of the Degas Pastel Society, The Pastel Society of America, the American Impressionist Society and a Signature member of the Pastel Society of Cape Cod, as well as a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast.
She is a recipient of many prizes for her work, not only in pastels but also in other mediums. These mediums include etching, pen & ink, and colored pencils but for the past six years she has been working only in pastels.
Her work has been shown in exhibitions across the United States and Canada where she has won numerous awards in that medium. In April of 2006, her work appeared in American Artist magazine and her work has also appeared in "100 Ways to Paint The Landscape" an International Artist Magazine publication. She is the first of two recipients to receive an International Artists Pastel Societies/Urania Christy Tarbet scholarship, she teaches classes in pastels and also does demonstrations for art groups. Marge Levine's work may be seen at the Frederick galleries in Allenhurst, N.J. , Atlantic Artisans Gallery, Atlantic Highlands, N.J., the Jacklyn Kling Gallery in Montclair, N.J., Riverbank Arts in Stockton, N.J., Images Gallery, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., and at The Artful Deposit in Bordentown, N.J.
